Fenwick vs. Morton (April 13, 2022)

Fenwick Rugby defeated the Morton Mustangs Wednesday evening, 29 – 5.  The victory pushes Fenwick to 2 – 1 record.  Fenwick was paced by 3 tries by William Frech.  Also scoring tries were Conor Paris and Iain Ramage, and Ramage added 2 conversions.  Next up on the schedule is a home match against nationally ranked Glen Ellyn, at Triton College on April 27th.

Fenwick vs. Mt. Carmel (March 23, 2022)

Downs Mt Carmel 43 – 0: Fenwick Rugby traveled to Mt Carmel to open the 2022 rugby season against the rival Caravan.  This was the first league match for Fenwick since 2019. Fenwick dominated the game from the start, putting up 19 points in the first half, behind tries from Conor Paris, William Frech and Gustavo Linares, and two successful conversion kicks from Iain Ramage.  The second half was no different as Fenwick put up another 24 points, with tries scored by Zack Jakaitis, Conor Paris and Aden Vargas, and conversion kicks by Zack Jakaitis and Ian Ramage and a penalty kick from Ramage. The defensive work by the Friars was stellar, with constant forward pressure giving Mt Carmel no room to develop any offensive flow. In addition to this being the first game since 2019, it also represented the first time the Friar ruggers have defeated Mt Carmel.  Well done!  Go Friars!

Fenwick vs. Arlington Heights (May 10, 2022 - Senior Night)

Fenwick Rugby hosted the Arlington Stallions on senior day in front of a loud home crowd, and posted a dominating 41 – 15 win.  Fenwick jumped out to a 24 – 0 first half lead, and never looked back, with another 17 points in the second half.  Appropriately enough on senior day, 5 seniors scored a total of 6 tries (Aden Vargas 2; Martin Paris, Conor Paris; William Frech, Gustavo Linares) and 2 conversions (Iain Ramage).  Sophomore Brendan Doebel scored the other try for Fenwick.  With the win Fenwick clinched a playoff berth, and will learn their opponent pending results from other games.
