Resources For Praying At Home

Fenwick’s Campus Ministry seeks to help the Fenwick community grow closer to God and one another through prayer, liturgy, retreats, and service in the spirit of the Dominican tradition. While we pray together when possible, these resources are meant to assist Friars and their families while we are apart.

Prayer Apps

  • Hallow App
    Catholic meditation app to help you find peace and grow in your spiritual journey. A great tool for anyone feeling a ‘rusty’ when it comes to prayer. Gives you the ability to set goals and reminders similar to fitness apps. There is both a ‘lite’ and a paid version.
  • Laudate App
    the #1 Catholic App with access to the entire Bible, daily Mass readings, common Catholic prayers, and more. One of the most extensive Catholic apps in terms of volume of content.
  • Reimagining the Examen App
    This app offers a modern take on St. Ignatius’s 500-year-old prayer. Its Examens can be adapted to users’ particular needs and situations. With thoughtful reflections on relationships, pending decisions, times of transition, or gratitude, users can review their day with God wherever they are.

  • Guided Meditations
    by United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
  • Daily Scripture Reflections
    Daily Scripture reflections by Pray-as-you-go. This meditation is a Lectio Divina style of prayer, a narrator reads the Scripture and asks reflection questions. Each day features a spiritual song. High quality production and content.
  • Three Minute Retreats
    A virtual retreat with photos and audio, you get to choose the pace, but they can be done in just three minutes. From Loyola Press.

Blogs and Websites

  • Word on Fire
    Founded by Bishop Robert Barron, contains links to see Bishop Barron’s daily livestream Mass and other resources about the Catholic Faith.
  • Friarly.com
    Recorded homilies, spiritual readings, links to live stream Masses.
  • Formed
    Formed is a Catholic video streaming platform, some call it the ‘Catholic Netflix.’ Requires a subscription, and has videos explaining the Catholic faith as well as short films on the lives of the saints. Also includes content for school aged children.
