3 Friars Earn Evans Scholarships
Three Fenwick students were selected for the caddie scholarship by the Western Golf Association’s Evans Scholars Foundation.
Congratulations to Fenwick’s three senior Evans Scholars for 2024, selected by the Western Golf Association’s Evans Scholars Foundation:
- Michael Sosna (Chicago), Ridgemoor Country Club, The University of Chicago
- Mauricio Garcia (Chicago), Briarwood Country Club, Marquette University
- Armando Castro (Cicero), Onwentsia Club, University of Illinois at Chicago
In the past 10 years, more than 50 Fenwick students have received the prestigious caddie scholarship - the most of any high school in the country during that time period.
Fenwick is also among the top 5 schools in the U.S. for total Evans Scholars, with 130 to date. Twenty-five Fenwick Evans Scholars are currently enrolled in college, the second-highest number nationwide.
