Friars Drop Quarterfinal Playoff match 46-35
The Fenwick Friars Rugby team met the Chesterton Saints in a Rugby Illinois Quaterfinal playoff matchup.
Fenwick started the match off quickly, with Jack Rodis punching in a try and converting it, giving the Friars an early 7 - 0 lead.
Cheterton proved itself a capable and resilient unit, scoring the next 35 consecutive points. Fenwick was hampered by being a man down following a yellow card penalty, and Chesteron took full advantage. The score at half was 35 - 7 in favor of the Saints.
Rather than quit, Fenwick showed true grit and resolve, with Patrick McDonough, TJ Nix, Jack Rodis and Eiam Staples (2) scoring tries. Fenwick ended up outscoring Chesterton 29 - 10 in the second half, but unfortunately just could not quite dig out of the first half hole.
